Setting goals
At the beginning of 2008, I started an experiment in goal setting. Mainly to tame some of the organizational chaos in my life, and to better be able to deal with low points that invariably occur during the year. I called this experiment 30 Goals in (About) 300 Days. Around half of the goals revolve around my personal life. The rest revolve around my writing and my business.
Even though the 300 or so days I set to achieve those goals hasn’t quite elapsed, I’ve learned a few things from this experiment. First, goal setting can work. It takes focus and dedication. And patience. A lot of all three. Second, chances are you won’t achieve all of your goals; either fully or even partially. There’s no shame in that, and there’s no point in beating yourself up about it. Third, review your goals regularly. Doing that can help keep you on track.
So, what about the goals that I won’t achieve this year? I’m putting them at the top of the list for next year. We’ll see what happens …

Scott, thanks for the link… looks like we agree… I don’t think I’ve ever met all my goals… often I’ll find after I set one that it or I change… somehow it becomes less important or something new comes along to replace it.
Just grabbed your feed… don’t know how I missed it for so long.
