George Orwell’s diaries now online
I’ve never been much for keeping a diary or a journal. And I’ve never really been into reading those of others, either. The daily minutiae of my life, and even the lives of the wel-known, aren’t all that compelling to me.
That said, you might find this interesting: the diaries of George Orwell are being put online. From the About page:
The Orwell Prize, Britain’s pre-eminent prize for political writing, is publishing George Orwell’s diaries as a blog. From 9th August 2008, Orwell’s domestic and political diaries (from 9th August 1938 until October 1942) will be posted in real-time, exactly 70 years after the entries were written.
Seeing as how Orwell is one of my favourite writers, I might take a peek.
