Great help with this post. But I think I won't migrate because my site ranking in terms of Google search and sundry will all go down to zero after I migrate. I also don't know how I'll deal with relinking all the images - it's just so painful.

I'll just need to somehow redesign my blogspot in such a way that it gets the neat look a typical wordpress blog usually has.

@Vivek Godgift I’ve never encountered that error, nor has anyone I’ve talked to who’s done this successfully.

I have been trying as said before in this blog but i am not able to transfer the blog to my host I am receiving the following error any advice would be helpful...

Could not connect to https://www.google.com

I’m assuming that you’re Web site is hosted by Google. If that’s the case, then you can install WordPress on your site (assuming Google’s servers are running a software called PHP). The only problem is that you’ll have to do it yourself, unless Google hosting has something called one-click installers (like Fantastico or SimpleScripts).

However, Google isn’t the only game for Web hosting. You can actually move your domain to another host. You keep http://www.simplemakes.com, but the files for your site are on a different Web server.

You might be able to add an HTML redirect to your Blogger template. In the header (somewhere between the head tags) add:

meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=http://ntowindows.com/vista"

As for Google penalizing you, I'm not sure what you mean by that. PageRank? To be honest, I really don't know.

Hi nice post…Btw, how to redirect visitors from abc.blogspot.com/vista to intowindows.com/vista? I mean exact page redirecting..Will google panelize if I keep my old blog(because of duplicate contents)

I’d also like to switch from Blogger to Wordpress. However, I want to keep my domain – http://www.SimpleMakes.com (it’s just 2 months young!) – but I bought the domain through Google (I suppose through Google apps? I did it on blogspot.com). Does this mean that I don’t really have webhosting except for blogspot.com, and that if I tried to move it elsewhere, I’d need to buy that, too?

The migration only copies data. If you're blog is hosted at Blogspot, you can maintain your posts there -- deleting the blog isn't easy. At least, it wasn't the last time I tried.

If you're publishing your blog from Blogger to your own Web site, you can also keep your posts. Just install WordPress in another directory on your Web server.

Hi, i would like to know, if i do the migration, the whole content from the blogger still in there or totally migrate to the wordpress? Cause i would like to migrate my blogger posts but at the same time still want to maintain this site.
