Writing, without the distractions
At it's core, writing is about putting words on a page -- whether that page is physical or virtual. It's easy to get distracted, though, by the menus and toolbars of modern word processors, as well as the other applications that might be running on your desktop. That's where WriteRoom comes in. It's a full-screen editor that lets you focus on writing. You can't see your email client, Web browser, or anything like that.
It's simple, and that simplicity is free. But WriteRoom is only available for MacOS. Anyone out there know of a similar program for Linux or Windows?
WriteRoom definitely isn't for everyone. But if you're a writer who uses a Mac and need to write and nothing else, then this little app might be worth a close look.
