Creating documentation with Linux tools

If you’re a technical writer who has jumped to Linux, you might find the task of creating documentation to be rather frustrating. There’s no Linux version of FrameMaker, RoboHelp, MadCap Flare, or any of the other tools tech writers working on Windows take for granted.

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t solid technical writing tools available for Linux. This article at Newsforge.com looks at a number of Linux tools that you can use to create professional documentation. Blatant plug: I wrote the article.

Keep in mind, though, that the article doesn’t cover every piece of software or markup language (you can learn more about a couple of interesting markup languages here and here), but it gives you a peek at a number of the tools that are out there.
