Free screen movie software
While a picture can be worth a thousand words, a well-done video can be worth a lot more. Especially when training someone to perform a task. I recently stumbled upon a neat piece of freeware called Wink, which can create slideshows and Flash presentations. And there's a version which runs on Linux, which is bonus for me.
With Wink, you can capture screenshots from a desktop computer and either combine them into an HTML slide show or a Flash movie. Wink can also save your work as a Windows executable or a PDF.
While I haven't checked out all of Wink's features, I'm impressed with the Flash output. It's as good, and often better, than that of similar applications that I've tried.
