Tips on writing globally 

Chances are, what you write won’t be read only by people in your home country – it’s likely that readers from all over the world will be perusing your words. This is especially true if you’re involved in technical or corporate writing.

The problem is that English won’t be the mother tongue of much of your audience overseas. As well, translators must be able to transform your writing from English into one or more target languages with the minimum of fuss and errors.

So, how can you help both readers and translators? By writing globally – keeping the language as straightforward, simple, and free of idioms as possible. Writing globally isn’t easy, but it is essential.
