Writely supports open standards
The folks behind Writely, an online word processor and collaboration tool, have added support for the OpenDocument Format. You can read more information about it here.
So, what does that mean? Well, what you create using Writely can be opened in word processors that support the OpenDocument format, notably OpenOffice.org Writer. It’s nice to see more people supporting an open standard, and not forcing writers to use a particular file format.
