One currently hot area of writing is SEO (search engine optimized) articles, sometimes called keyword articles. These are short articles that are densely packed with keywords popular with search engine users. The theory is that the keywords in these articles will attract traffic from search engines.
Writing keyword articles doesn't pay much (around a maximum of $7.50 USD per article), but if you can write quickly you can knock off a lot of these articles and make decent money for a few hours of work.
