Coders learning from writers

I can't say enough about William Zinsser's excellent book On Writing Well. It's been a source of information and inspiration for me since I was in journalism school in the 1980s.

Venkat Subramaniam, writing at the O'Reilly Network, says that the core lessons of On Writing Well (clarity, simplicity, brevity, and humanity) can be applied to software coding.

I'm sure that Zinsser never foresaw this use of his book.
