Does Linux matter in the fight to promote free software?

This blog post argues that it doesn’t. Well, more to the point it talks about how it might be more important to get people to:

  1. Think about the formats that they use
  2. Switch to applications that support those formats under the operating system that they’re already using
  3. Then, switch to Linux
